A Word to the Wise

[Current Mood |happyhappy]

C'est ainsi que j'ai abandonné à l'âge de six ans un e magnifique carrière de peintre. J'avais été découragé par l'insuccès de mon dessin numéro 1 et de mon dessin numéro 2. Les grandes personnes ne comprennent jamais rien toutes seules, et c'est fatiguant, pour les enfants, de toujours et toujours leur donner des explications...

And thus, at the age of six, I abandoned a magnificent career in painting. I had been discouraged by the failure of my drawing number 1, and my drawing number 2. Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is wearing for children to be forever giving them explanations...

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

(by the way that's only my translation, I'm not quite sure of all of my tenses since i haven't covered some of them yet)

Go me and my ability to still mostly understand what's going on in a French sentence after 6 years of no practice and bastardising it with Russian!

I'll stop crowing about my greatness now... For a few seconds...

LOL.. the idea of you crowing about your greatness is hilarious- if only because it's the absolute opposite of you! :D

We were just watching QI and I went into a short period of self-smugness when I got one of the questions right :D That's about it, really!
